Job Detail
- Pulse MIG Welding: Use GMAW-Pulse welding techniques to weld thick gauge steel and other materials with precision, ensuring strong penetration, minimal spatter, and a clean finish.
- Weld Quality Assurance: Inspect welds to meet industry specifications, ensuring each weld is strong, clean, and free of defects. Perform quality checks using visual inspection, testing, and measuring tools.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to complete welding tasks as required.
- Material Handling: Work with a variety of heavy materials, ensuring proper preparation (grinding, cutting, cleaning) before welding. Select appropriate filler materials based on the specific needs of the project.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain welding equipment, including GMAW-Pulse machines, ensuring they are properly calibrated and in good working order. Troubleshoot any mechanical issues that may arise.
- Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring the work environment remains hazard-free.
- Team Collaboration: Work as part of a cohesive team, coordinating with supervisors and other welders to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Documentation: Accurately record welding activity, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered during the welding process.
- Skills Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of MIG welding experience, with specific expertise in GMAW-Pulse welding on thick gauge materials (steel, aluminum, etc.).
- Certifications: Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) preferred, but not required.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of GMAW-Pulse welding processes, material properties, and equipment operation.
- Blueprint Reading: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to complete welding assignments with accuracy.
- Attention to Detail: Strong eye for quality, ensuring each weld meets or exceeds expectations with minimal rework.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including standing for long periods, lifting materials, and working in confined spaces.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve welding-related issues quickly and efficiently.
- Team-Oriented: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors and fellow welders.
