Job Detail
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication diagrams.
- Accurately mark out, position, and align structural parts and assemblies.
- Fit, tack-weld, and assemble trailer components including beams, frames, axles, suspension systems, and hydraulics.
- Operate hand and power tools such as grinders, drills, and cutting torches.
- Ensure all fitted components meet dimensional and quality specifications.
- Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and engineers to resolve design or assembly issues.
- Maintain tools and work area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Adhere to all workplace safety procedures, practices, and regulations.
- Inspect and test assembled components for alignment, strength, and function.
- Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fitter in heavy equipment or trailer manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with high accuracy.
- Proficiency with fabrication and measuring tools.
- Basic welding skills (MIG/TIG/Stick) are a strong asset.
- Physically fit and able to handle heavy components.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working with oversized or multi-axle trailer builds.
