Job Detail
- Fabricate composite components and/or tools, which include, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, composite trimming, finishing, core fabrication, and composite bonding processes
- Performing part-fitting operations such as filing, burring, crimping, trimming, gromet installation, drilling, countersinking and reaming
- Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
- Measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
- Modifying incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate engineering changes to structure
- Monitoring and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
- Troubleshoot and solve unique problems through collaboration with engineers and other technicians
- Operate autoclave and curing ovens to complete bonding cycles
- Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 4-years of relatable aircraft experience in manufacturing/production (or similar)- Perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: lifting over 25 pounds, working with chemicals, overhead work, climbing up and down ladders, prolonged kneeling, bending, or stooping, carrying tools, testing for and wearing a respirator
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access required
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc
- Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last six years with the ability to obtain program access - A&P License
- Experience with composite manufacturing, aircraft fabrication, assemblies, components, and systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
- Experience with high temperature composite materials including Polyimide
- Experience with structural subassemblies, including bonding, co-bonding, core bonding and bagging
- Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications and operating procedures
Primary Level Salary Range: $25 - 91 – $43

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions
Depending on the position, employees be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay- Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results
