Job Detail
- Study schematics, diagrams and blueprints to determine layout of pipes and devise welding plans
- Measure pipe routings and fabricate them to fit existing in-line piping systems
- Plan and layout sequence of installation procedures to avoid obstruction in pipe laying and welding activities
- Assemble and install a variety of metal pipes and pipe fittings.
- Install pipe related equipment such as hangers, supports and hydraulic cylinders
- Secure pipes to structures with clamps, brackets and hangers using hand tools
- Remove slag and rough spots by operating portable grinders or scrapers, to ensure smooth work surfaces
- Clean, prepare and install pipes with various fittings and weld joints according to standardized protocols
- Using multiple welding processes, GTAW, SMAW, GMAW.
- REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction/direction from qualified welder.
- Willing to be flexible with overtime and production schedule requirements.
- Must have knowledge of GTAW/TIG on structural/pipe.
- Must be able to comply with company welding procedure specifications.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Stamina and physical fitness to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings.
