Job Detail
  • Apply Welder I capabilities: read basic drawings and execute straightforward fabrications such as straight cutting and banding, adding nosing and toe plates per drawings, and installing anchor blocks. or set up and weld all configurations of HD hand‑welded grating.
  • Consistently meet quality metrics and productivity targets.
  • Lay out, assemble, and fabricate multiple grating product lines by determining materials and bar spacing based on job orders and prints.
  • Work effectively with limited supervision in a self-directed environment.
  • Operate overhead and jib cranes safely to move and position grating panels.
  • Use power equipment safely, including power saws, presses, grinders, cutting torches, band/cold/table saws, routers, and welding machines.
  • Complete all paperwork and time sheets accurately to support inventory control.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and recognize when service is required.
  • Troubleshoot welding/fabrication issues and support other business units as needed.
  • Shift among production lines to meet workload demands.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate with teammates.
  • Maintain clean, organized personal and shared work areas.
  • Take on additional tasks and cross-train as assigned. What you bring
  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent, plus hands-on experience with MIG and Stick welding. oxy/fuel and plasma cutting on carbon, stainless steel, and/or aluminum. familiarity with AWS D1.1, D1.5 and/or D1.2. safe use of hand and power tools. out-of-position certification. the ability to read and interpret blueprints. safe overhead crane operation. fluency with both metric and standard tape measures. and basic math skills including adding/subtracting two-digit numbers, multiplying/dividing by 10s and 100s without a calculator, and working with whole numbers and fractions in both metric and imperial units. Strong team orientation is essential.
  • Preferred: 2–4 years of fabrication training and/or experience. 2–4 years in steel, stainless, or aluminum manufacturing. and 1–2 years of overhead crane experience.
  • Physical demands
  • This role involves repetitive motions and long periods of standing and walking, with frequent stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, and pushing/pulling grating of varying sizes and weights. Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs using proper technique, assistance, or lifting equipment.
  • Work environment
  • Work is performed on the production floor with required PPE. Expect regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold, as well as machinery and tool hazards—strict adherence to safety rules and standards is required.
