Job Detail
- Demonstrated professional experience as a Lead Pipe Insulator.
- Ability to independently complete a minimum of 100-200 linear feet of insulation per day.
- Must possess and maintain all necessary tools and equipment required to complete daily insulation tasks.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various project locations around the state as required.
- Proficiency in accurately tracking and reporting material usage and comfort using digital documentation tools/applications for daily logs.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems, piping layouts, and fabrication techniques
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes for material quantities and job planning
- Knowledge of various insulation materials including fiberglass, foam board, rubberized coatings, and metal jacketing
- Experience with caulking techniques for sealing joints and seams effectively
- Familiarity with related trades such as plastering, roofing, framing carpentry, stucco application, metal stud framing, concrete finishing, masonry work, construction painting, airless paint spraying, trim carpentry, and roof installation is a plus
- Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces while adhering to OSHA standards
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and interpret technical instructions
- Proven experience in construction site work, especially in insulation installation or related trades such as carpentry or masonry
- Proficiency with hand tools including knives, scissors, tape measures, and levels. familiarity with power tools like saws, drills, and sanders
- Duties
- Measure and cut insulation materials accurately to fit piping systems based on blueprints and schematics
- Install pipe insulation using hand tools such as knives, scissors, and measuring tapes, as well as power tools like saws and drills
- Secure insulation with appropriate fastening methods including staples, adhesives, or mechanical fasteners
- Ensure all insulation is properly sealed with caulking or other sealants to prevent air leaks and moisture intrusion
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine insulation specifications and placement
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, HVAC technicians, and masons to coordinate installation processes
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials regularly during project execution
- Follow all safety protocols related to working at heights, handling materials, and operating power tools
- Assist in fabrication tasks when necessary to customize insulation components for complex piping configurations
- Conduct inspections of installed insulation for quality assurance and compliance with project standards
