- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine material requirements and welding procedures
- Set up and operate welding equipment to join structural components
- Position, align, and fit structural parts prior to welding, using clamps, squares, and measuring tools
- Inspect welds visually and dimensionally to ensure conformance with specifications and quality
- standards
- Repair or rework defective welds as needed
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are in safe working condition
- Follow safety procedures for working with compressed gases, hot materials, and heavy equipment
- Collaborate with fitters, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure project deadlines and quality goals are
- met
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to 5S and housekeeping standards
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required- Must pass company-administered welding tests
- Proficient in MIG, Flux Core, or Stick welding; TIG experience a plus
- Familiarity with welding carbon steel and stainless-steel materials
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork
