    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    Removes brush and grass from the base of wood poles supporting electrical power lines
  • Rakes and clears brush and grass away from the pole area
  • Handles all necessary repairs including the replacement of worn or damaged parts to chain saw and/or weed eater
  • Applies chemical herbicide to right-of-way following brush removal
  • Operates a chain saw and/or weed eater down to and at ground level
  • Walks over rough terrain to reach poles that are inaccessible with pickup
  • Works around moving equipment
  • Works around excessive noise from machines with hearing protection
  • Works in tight spaces – clear poles within an approximate 10-foot circumference


  • Minimum Qualifications:

    Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicle


  • Education & Experience:

    High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Entry-level position, previous experience is a plus


  • Pre-Screen:

    Upon offer, employees be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check


  • License & Certifications:

    A valid Driver’s license is Required


  • Travel Requirements:

    Must have transportation to and from the show-up location
  • Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work


  • Physical Requirements:

    RARE (less than 10%): sitting, crawling, climbing poles, color-vision, climbing ladders, climbing stairs
  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): kneeling, climbing on/off truck, balancing, lifting up to 50 lbs
