Job Detail
  • Build, configure, and standardize Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) in alignment with company templates and best practices
  • Manage and migrate Azure Files, ensuring availability, access control, and performance optimization
  • Support and enhance Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, with special focus on GIS and CAD user workloads
  • Implement and test Azure Backup and Restore processes to meet RPO/RTO requirements
  • Perform Azure Network troubleshooting (VNets, NSGs, routing, VPN, ExpressRoute, etc
  • )
  • Support Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) deployments and automation using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform templates

  • On-Premises and Hybrid Infrastructure Support on-prem server administration, including Windows Server builds, patching, and lifecycle management
  • Maintain hybrid integrations between on-prem systems and Azure
  • Ensure all systems are up-to-date with security patches and comply with corporate policies

  • Operations and Support Provide tier level 2-3 support for infrastructure issues and incidents
  • Assist the Sr

    Server Maintenance Plan and apply ArcGIS Server, Portal, and Data Store updates/patches with IT coordination
  • Validate compatibility, document versions, and perform post-patch testing

  • User & Account Management Create, configure, and manage GIS user accounts, roles, and licenses
  • Handle account terminations, content transfers, and archival

  • Certificates & Security Monitor and renew SSL certificates for Portal, Server, and Web Adaptors
  • Enforce HTTPS and role-based access; integrate with AD/SSO as needed

  • Backup & Recovery Schedule and validate regular backups; perform test restores
  • Document recovery steps for disaster recovery readiness

  • Monitoring & Optimization Track system performance, logs, and alerts
  • Tune services, caching, and pooling for optimal performance

  • Documentation & Collaboration Maintain configuration and change documentation
  • Collaborate with IT and GIS teams; provide Tier 2/3 support and training

  • Planning & Improvement Assess and enhance system performance, scalability, and new feature adoption


  • Experience and qualifications for success
    Required
    University degree or college diploma in Systems Administration, Network Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering (Azure preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS, Azure Files, and AVD
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Experience with backup/restore operations and disaster recovery planning
  • Understanding of DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines (e
