Job Detail
  • Conduct field testing and analysis of HVAC systems, including air flow, water flow, pressure, and temperatures.
  • Adjust and balance systems to achieve optimal performance, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and project documents.
  • Record detailed measurements and observations during testing, and prepare comprehensive test and balance reports for submission to clients and engineers.
  • Develop work plans, recommend corrective actions for system deficiencies, and implement safety protocols on job sites.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to troubleshoot issues and verify system functionality post-installation.
  • Perform testing on commercial HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, boilers, and ductwork. This position offers opportunities for professional growth in the HVAC industry, with competitive compensation based on experience. Benefits Hourly rate with significant overtime potential, given the field work and project-based nature of the role. Salaries vary by experience, and certifications (e.g, NEBB or AABC). $20 – $40, with overtime hours just about every week. Matched 401k. Medical PTO Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. associate’s degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in testing, adjusting, and balancing HVAC systems is highly desirable.
  • Certification from a recognized body such as the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) or Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for interpreting data and performing calculations.
  • Proficiency with testing equipment (e.g, manometers, anemometers, flow hoods) and software for data logging and reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work in physically demanding environments (e.g, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces).
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual with strong communication skills for documenting findings and interacting with team members.
  • Knowledge of building codes, energy efficiency standards, and safety regulations (e.g, OSHA).
