- Key Responsibilities: System Maintenance Optimization
- This role is focused on preventative maintenance and diagnostic optimization to maximize the operational lifespan and daily performance of smart home systems.
- Perform comprehensive smart home system health checks, diagnostics, and routine optimizations to ensure peak, long-term performance.
- Conduct proactive network performance and Wi-Fi speed testing to identify and pre-emptively resolve potential connectivity degradation.
- Complete all critical firmware and security patch updates for supported devices and core automation systems.
- Calibrate and fine-tune complex audio systems for optimal sound quality and room acoustics.
- Clean and organize equipment racks and camera lenses to maintain professional standards and system reliability.
- Adjust and optimize camera views for proper coverage and image clarity, ensuring security integrity.
- Test, replace, and maintain alarm system batteries and monitoring equipment on a scheduled basis.
- Proactively identify opportunities during maintenance visits and deliver strategic product and service recommendations that maximize client value and enhance their system capabilities.
- Qualifications
- We require demonstrated experience focused on maintaining and troubleshooting sophisticated low-voltage and technology systems.
- 2+ years of dedicated experience in smart home technology, low-voltage systems, or field maintenance/diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi setup, advanced troubleshooting, router configuration).
- Familiarity with audio/visual systems, camera, security, and automation systems.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills (ability to identify root causes of intermittent issues).
- Dexterity to effectively engage with customers face-to-face to understand needs and proactively recommend suitable products or service upgrades. Sales Experience a PLUS!
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service appointments efficiently within a defined territory.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb and work from ladders
- Must be able to work in tight, confined spaces (e.g attics, crawl spaces, closets)
- Candidate Requirements:
- Must NOT have a criminal record history.
- Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License with good driving history.
- Must be able to pass MVR, background check, and drug screen.
