Job Detail
  • Supervise and manage all field construction activities for heavy civil projects, including earthwork, concrete, structural steel, utilities, and paving
  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term construction schedules in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and local/state/federal regulations (Caltrans, OSHA, etc
  • )
  • Lead daily safety meetings, enforce company safety policies, and maintain a strong safety culture on-site
  • Coordinate and communicate with engineers, inspectors, owners, and subcontractors to resolve field issues promptly
  • Monitor labor, equipment, and material costs; report production and cost data to management
  • Review and approve daily reports, timecards, and equipment usage logs
  • Oversee quality control procedures, testing, and inspections to meet or exceed project standards
  • Participate in project planning meetings and assist in developing means and methods for efficient construction
  • Train and mentor foremen, operators, and laborers to develop a high-performing field team
  • Qualifications Minimum 8–10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including at least 5 years in a superintendent or foreman role
  • Experience managing bridge, highway, or wastewater treatment plant projects preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Caltrans specifications , plans , and construction standards
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and schedules
  • Proven track record of managing multiple crews and coordinating with various trades
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid California Driver’s License
