Job Detail
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAVs, heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems, and controls.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and performance testing according to manufacturer and company standards.
- Lead and mentor junior technicians, providing on-the-job training and technical guidance.
- Analyze system performance and recommend efficiency improvements or upgrades.
- Coordinate and communicate with dispatchers, project managers, and customers regarding job status and findings.
- Complete accurate service documentation, timesheets, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, environmental regulations, and industry codes.
- Assist with start-up and commissioning of new commercial HVAC installations as needed.
- Serve as a technical resource for complex or high-priority service calls.
- Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or HVAC technical certification preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC service.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (required).
- Expert knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and control systems (DDC/BAS).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environments and weather conditions.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building automation systems (e.g, Trane, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Honeywell).
- Proficiency with chiller and boiler systems.
- Factory training or certifications on major HVAC brands (Trane, Daikin, Carrier, Lennox, etc.).
- Experience leading teams or mentoring apprentices.
