Job Detail
- Use and operation of basic hand tools such as shovels, hammers, post-pounders, picks, come-alongs, etc
- Use and operation of power tools such as drills, demo saw, compactor, saws all, circular saw, etc
- Understanding of Grade Plans and Grading Tools
- Understanding of earth-moving practices
- Experience with snow removal equipment
- Safely transport equipment around YC property and the ability to learn the YC roadways and travel routes
- Experience digging around and installing utilities, as well as an understanding of utility markers
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions while completing tasks together or by yourself
- Adherence to safety guidelines
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- when necessary
- Basic computer skills
Position Requirements:
High school diploma, GED or vocational training, or job-related coursework- Over 18 years of age
- Valid Driver’s License
- Recommended Class B CDL w/air brake and 1-year commercial driving experience
- Must be able to learn and memorize multiple snow plow routes
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions, day, and night
- Must be able to delineate road edges, complete cold patching, and assist in the plow vehicle shop
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and instructions
- Preferred experience operating light and heavy equipment
- Be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Be able to work outside in inclement weather and adverse conditions
- Ability to work efficiently alone or with a team
- Adhere to safety practices
- Adhere to early morning start times when necessary
This position will be subject to random drug screenings throughout the season
