Job Detail
- Install, adjust, and troubleshoot relays with technical capabilities
- Support the sales effort by assisting with labor estimates and job walks
- Remain up-to-date with all safety and technical training; attend company sponsored safety training when required
- Collect field data and perform arc flash studies, coordination studies, and short circuit analysis
- Provide technical insight concerning substation systems and electrical power systems
- Adhere to all company, industry, and client safety protocols and standards ensuring our “Safety First” priority
- Install, troubleshoot, commission, test, and maintain protective relaying equipment
- Calibrate and perform functional tests on microprocessor-based protective relays for high-voltage substations
- Conduct end-to-end relay testing using Doble ProTest software or Protection Suite
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older - Professional skills in protective relay logic, protection schemes, write-ups, and documentation of test plans related to full commissioning substations
- Knowledge of Doble ProTest or Protection Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills together with a proven commitment to safety and customer service
- NETA certification is strongly encouraged
Education & Experience
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing protective relays in high-voltage substations - Experience installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and similar equipment
- Two-year degree or technical school graduate; or relative field experience
