Occupational Experience of 5 Years is required

• Perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungs10Arc Welding) processes.
• Weld and fuse carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper-nickel pipe, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Execute mirror welding using SMAW and GTAW processes as required.
• Utilize oxygen/propane heating torches for pre-heating and fitting operations.
• Work in shipboard and sub-assembly environments, including ladders, staging, and confined spaces.
• Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures related to the shipbuilding industry.
• Use fillet gauges, butt gauges, and six-inch scales accurately for measuring and inspection.
• Required Skills Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or naval pipe welding.
• Proficient in SMAW and GTAW welding for all positions.
• Skilled in welding thin-wall sockets (below 0.187″ wall thickness).
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, fitting, and welding standards.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in physically demanding environments.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and shipyard safety standards.
• Welding Qualifications Testing:
• Candidates must pass the following tests administered by the Welding School:
• Welder’s Vision Test (5 minutes)
• Visual Inspection of Welds – Level I (4 hours)
• Pre-Heat and Interpass (1 hour)
• Fire Watch CBT (2 hours)
• Torch Safety Test Practical (3 hours)
• Welding Qualification Tests for procedures: 503, 502, 541, 725, 506, 659, 556, 650, 664, and 557
• Note: Testing duration is approximately 2½ weeks.
