Job Detail
- Performs quality repairs, preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using manual and computerized diagnostic tools.
- Reads and understands equipment operating and repair manuals including hydraulic and electric schematics.
- Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using mechanical and electronic diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
- Dismantle, repair, and reassemble heavy equipment components using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Prepare detailed repair reports and maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Tests equipment after repair to ensure proper performance compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
- Understanding and implementation of Safety and Shop Procedures.
- Review and approve purchase orders (POs) and subcontractor (S-C) requests.
- Assist in project negotiations and work orders, providing input to the General Manager.
- Review and approve invoices, ensuring accurate project coding and cost tracking.
- Monitor and analyze cost reports and billing reports to identify potential issues or opportunities.
- Demonstrate strong independent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Job Responsibilities Include:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain issues and recommended repairs.
- Minimum of 2(2) years of experience in maintenance and repair of automotive and heavy construction equipment.
- Diesel experience required.
- Familiar with Komatsu and Caterpillar equipment is preferred.
- Ability to learn and comply with all Rowland company standards and procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
