- Primary Responsibilities
- Operate assigned heavy equipment safely and efficiently to complete mass grading tasks
- Conduct pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance on equipment
- Follow grade stakes, GPS guidance, and plan specifications to achieve design elevations
- Coordinate and communicate with foremen, grade checkers, and other team members
- Perform a variety of grading tasks including cut/fill, slope work, and material movement
- Identify and report safety hazards or equipment issues promptly
- Maintain awareness of project goals, schedules, and quality standards
- Qualifications
- Proven experience operating haul trucks, scrapers, dozers, or graders
- Background in mass grading or large-scale earthwork preferred
- Ability to interpret grade stakes and operate GPS-guided systems
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work cooperatively in a team setting
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in changing site and weather conditions
- Preferred Skills
- Experience using GPS grading systems (Trimble, Topcon, etc.)
- Understanding of soil types, moisture content, and compaction standards
