Job Detail
  • Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.
  • Obtain a State of Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver License within 12 months of appointment to the position.
  • Have at least 6(6) months of progressive experience in grounds maintenance/landscaping, as well as maintenance and repair of hand tools, small equipment, and power tools.
  • Be able to understand and effectively carry out oral and writ10instructions.
  • Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster. Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants: Have some basic supervisory experience.
  • Have some knowledge of construction and repair materials, methods, equipment and procedures.
  • Have some computer knowledge. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
  • The successful candidate must be either a resident of the City of St. Petersburg as of his or her date of employment, or establish primary residency within the city limits of St. Petersburg within 6months of completing the probationary period. Furthermore, as long as the successful candidate is employed in this classification, he or she must reside within the city limits of St. Petersburg. This requirement is not applicable to current City employees who were hired before October 20, 1997.
