Job Description

Job Detail
  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial control systems and power distribution systems including electric motors, motor control devices, and variable speed drives
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance and calibrations for all electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment
  • Maintain instrumentation including analytical, flow, pressure, and level transmitters
  • Maintain accurate equipment files such as maintenance and inventory logs, manuals, blueprints, and program revision archives
  • Operate and perform maintenance of hand tools, light, and heavy equipment
  • Read and understand manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Responsible for installing equipment, servicing it, troubleshooting problems and making repairs when necessary
  • Responsible for installing and maintaining electrical circuits, repairing motors and generators, fixing robotics and programming controllers
  • Responsible for carrying out equipment isolation, planned and unplanned maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis, calibration and testing electrical equipment, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Understands how to program and troubleshoot PLC’s
  • Clearly understands LOTO
  • Must be able to perform preventative maintenance on a wide variety of electrical systems, equipment, and components including but limited to, transformers, switchgear, bus bars, high and low voltage motors and panel wiring


  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    High-level efficiency of hand tools, power tools, drill presses, grinders, etc
  • Knowledge of safe working practices with rotating and high voltage machinery
  • General understanding of OSHA requirements including lock-out/tag-out, confined spaces, SDS, etc
  • Working knowledge of motor control circuits
  • Understand local, state, and national electrical codes
  • Ability to disassemble and assemble gearboxes and pumps
  • Ability to identify and measure critical tolerances or dimensions
  • Ability to know when gearboxes and pumps need alignment
  • Ability to work cohesively with other team members, and to contribute positively to the work environment


  • Experience:

    Experience with extrusion or lamination machines or comparable manufacturing processes
  • Experience with industrial process equipment and instrumentation
  • Familiar with PLC ladder logic and editing


  • Education and Certifications:

    HS diploma or GED required, Technical or Vocation School, preferred

    Physical Requirements:

    Be on your feet for 10-12 hours
  • Able to lift 40 pounds unassisted
  • Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
  • Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
