  • Job Mission
  • This position requires direct communication and involvement with the Operations Manager and staff of Alum-A-Lift on all aspects, responsible for completion of work that meets quality standards in a manner that provides cost effective manufacturing service to the company and the customer. This position is responsible with machining and measuring components as well as maintenance of machines.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Setup machines for production components.
  • Machine/fabricate standard and special components.
  • Continuous inspection of components while in process.
  • Complete secondary operations as required.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment while following all safety standards.
  • Complete machinery maintenance and repairs as required.
  • Responsible for stock of all shop tooling.
  • Record notations of necessary up-dates or changes to drawings.
  • Assure production schedule and ship dates are met consistently.
  • Inform management of potential problems, while participating and incorporating solutions for problems.
  • Supervise and train fellow employees when necessary.
  • Other Duties
  • Attends meetings.
  • Attends training and industry related seminars.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Key Interfaces
  • Machinist reports to Manufacturing Manager and is part of the Manufacturing Team.
  • Machinist works closely with the other members of the Manufacturing Team and other departments central to the company as well as representatives of the Piab and other Piab subsidiaries.

  • High school or equivalent and/or 3years manufacturing experience in related field and/or training. or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Computer Skills:
  • Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets, E-mail Communication.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-1and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
