Job Detail
- Lead by example — perform active installation work while guiding and motivating the crew.
- Assign tasks, maintain pace, and hold team members accountable for quality and productivity.
- Maintain workload balance — approx. 70–80% hands-on installation and 20–30% supervision/coordination.
- Train, mentor, and support less experienced installers to grow internal capability and talent.
- Synthetic Flooring Expertise
- Install pad-and-pour urethane, vinyl plank/roll goods, rubber sports flooring, and turf underlayment systems.
- Mix, measure, and apply urethane materials with precision (base coat, wear coat, line paint, topcoat).
- Perform surface prep, patching, moisture mitigation, leveling, and substrate inspection.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as trowels, mixers, rollers, squeegees, auto-scrubbers, and moisture meters.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturer installation guidelines.
- Safety Quality Assurance
- Enforce OSHA 10 safety standards (company-sponsored training available if not already certified).
- Monitor installations to ensure compliance with system requirements and manufacturer specs.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues proactively, escalating when needed to protect client and company interests.
- Ensure accurate mix ratios, drying/curing times, and environmental controls for all synthetic materials.
- Client Jobsite Communication
- Provide professional, direct communication with clients, partners, and facility staff.
- Deliver clear daily progress updates and flag issues early.
- Handle on-site inspections, punchlist walk-throughs, and project handoff with confidence.
- Preferred Requirements
- Proven leadership, problem solving, and delegation skills.
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience installing synthetic athletic flooring (urethane, vinyl, rubber, or similar).
- Strong understanding of surface prep, moisture testing, coating systems, and adhesive application.
- OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to complete with company sponsorship).
- High professionalism when interacting with clients, contractors, and teammates.
- Ability to travel across New England (
- 30k miles/year) and perform occasional heavy lifting as part of hands-on work.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Required Qualifications
- Experience leading crews or working in a lead/foreman role (construction, athletics/coaching, military, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to balance leadership with active job-site labor.
