Job Brief
We’re seeking an experienced and hands-on lead building engineer to assisting in overseeing building operations, maintenance, and safety across a high-end residential community.
Salary Detail
$28 – $32 an hour

Job Detail
- Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians, assigning daily work orders and projects.
- Ensure all service requests, preventive maintenance, and unit turns are completed efficiently and to company standards.
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to the maintenance team.
- Maintain strong communication with property management and residents to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Building Operations Systems Oversight
- Manage all major building systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, electrical, and plumbing.
- Perform regular inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure safety and optimal operation.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate documentation of completed work.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations and coordinate vendor support when necessary.
- Vendor Project Management
- Coordinate and oversee vendors and contractors performing repairs, capital projects, and upgrades.
- Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Review and approve invoices, and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and materials.
- Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes.
- Maintain safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and MSDS documentation.
- Conduct routine safety meetings and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Resident Property Experience
- Ensure the property’s physical condition meets luxury standards at all times.
- Communicate professionally with residents, providing prompt and courteous service.
- Maintain the appearance of all common areas, amenities, and building systems rooms.
- Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on building maintenance or engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, and electrical systems.
- EPA Universal Certification (Prefferred)
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repair.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in using work order systems, maintenance software, and digital documentation tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
