Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled and experienced lead automotive painter to oversee all paint-related operations in our collision repair facility.

Mastery of paint systems (eg|, PPG, BASF, Axalta, Sherwin-Williams).

Job Detail
  • Perform high-quality automotive painting, refinishing, priming, color matching, and blending.
  • Inspect and prepare vehicles for painting, including sanding, masking, filling, and surface preparation.
  • Mix and match paint to exact specifications using manufacturer systems and shop tools.
  • Ensure all refinishing meets OEM standards and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Leadership Team Oversight
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of painters and preppers.
  • Assign daily tasks and manage workflow to meet production schedules.
  • Train new team members in proper techniques, safety procedures, and shop standards.
  • Quality Process Management
  • Conduct final quality checks on all paint work before vehicle delivery.
  • Maintain paint booths, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
  • Oversee compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including proper waste disposal.
  • Work closely with body technicians and estimators to coordinate repairs and achieve cycle-time goals.
  • Inventory Documentation
  • Manage paint inventory, supplies, and equipment needs.
  • Document paint codes, materials used, and job details in the shop management system.
  • Communicate proactively with management on material usage, equipment status, and process improvements.
  • Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional automotive painting experience (Lead or Senior-level experience preferred).
  • Mastery of paint systems (e.g, PPG, BASF, Axalta, Sherwin-Williams).
  • Strong knowledge of color theory, blending, tinting, and refinishing techniques.
  • Experience in a high-volume collision repair environment.
  • Ability to lead, train, and inspire a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certifications (I-CAR, ASE Refinish, OEM certifications).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Tolerance for working in paint booths and shop environments.
  • Use of PPE, respirators, and safety equipment as required.
