- Set up daily sensory sessions on commercial products and log results
- Test samples for texture and viscosity
- Review routine documentation for acceptability
- Escalate any out-of-specification results
- Communicate product releases to cross-functional teams
Document Organization and Storage (25%) Maintain and update quality documentation - Assist in updating procedures and specifications
- Ensure completed documentation is checked into the system
Sample Receipt, Logging, and Storage (25%) Verify sample arrivals and notify if delayed - Organize sample retains and manage offsite storage
- Maintain sample storage organization
Other Sample Evaluation (20%) Track complaint sample receipt - Perform sensory testing on retain samples
- Evaluate samples from shelf-life studies
- Prepare samples for tastings
General Duties (10%) Attend meetings and presentations - Participate in company-wide activities
- Handle administrative tasks (email, calendaring, expense reports)
Qualification:
Education: BA/BS in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field
Experience: Related laboratory experience - Food manufacturing and/or QA/QC experience a plus
- Sensory/organoleptic experience a plus
- Proactive approach and strong work ethic
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment ~
