Job Detail
  • Installation: Install new kitchen equipment.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and preventative servicing on a variety of equipment, including fryers, grills, ovens, refrigeration units, and dishwashers.
  • Repairs: Diagnose and repair faults in equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and gas systems. This can involve replacing defective parts.
  • Safety and compliance: Ensure all equipment operates safely and meets health and safety standards.
  • Record keeping: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs through a work order management system.
  • Collaboration: Work with kitchen staff, managers, and other maintenance personnel to coordinate repairs and resolve issues.
  • Emergency response: Respond to emergency calls for equipment repair as needed.
  • Essential skills and qualifications
  • Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA) Certification is required.
  • Current EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
  • Current licensure as required by State/City for the equipment being serviced.
  • Strong technical knowledge of various types of kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in all Occupational Safety and health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and local requirements related to all assigned work.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and gas issues.
  • Proficiency with preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and management.
  • A valid driver’s license is of10required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  • Relevant certifications may be beneficial.
