Job Detail
  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage wiring on commercial and industrial sites.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and electrical schematics to accurately execute projects.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify system integrity.
  • Work safely in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Connect programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation components to support industrial operations.
  • Perform renovation work by updating existing electrical systems while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical installations with framing carpentry and other trades.
  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to prevent failures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, including installation procedures, test results, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex electrical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Support low voltage wiring projects such as security systems or communication networks as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols diligently while working with high voltage systems and during construction activities.
  • Skills
  • Valid Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Journeyman Electrician License (required – no exceptions)
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical installations.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe installation practices.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems used in industrial settings.
  • Ability to work confidently on low voltage wiring projects as well as high voltage systems up to 600 volts or more.
  • Experience working on construction sites including renovation projects. capable of framing carpentry basics if needed.
  • Strong understanding of schematics for complex electrical circuits and systems integration.
  • Maintenance Person skills that support minor repairs or adjustments across various trades are a plus.
  • Construction site experience demonstrating adaptability in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards.
