Irrigation Maintenance Technician
Job Description:
As an Irrigation Technician for Heroes Lawn Care, you will work closely with a team and your manager in order to complete jobs for residential and commercial customers. With an eco-conscious attitude, you will perform installations, maintenance, repairs, and other jobs of a similar nature in the irrigation and landscaping fields. You will use your knowledge and the support of your team to effectively and professionally complete the work assigned to your group. And as you work you are expected to keep an eye out for potential problems/issues, bringing them to your manager if it cannot be solved within the parameters of the job. Finally, the technician will be expected to be held accountable for their work and must be open to trainings and support to focus on areas of themselves over time.
Responsibilities / Expectations:
**candidates without tons of irrigation experience may be considered if other work experience and work ethic are credible**
– Conduct a detailed inspection of irrigation systems
– Perform installs, maintenances and repairs of irrigation systems and set up zones for optimal water coverage (with a team or even solo)
– Perform testing of various irrigation systems and identify issues
– Interact with customers, colleagues, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner at all times
– Self-manage your assigned work and time — you will have a manager to report to who will help you, but everyone plays their role!
– Complete and submit all required task-related activities and any reasonable work requested by management
– Respond to customers’ requests and complaints, make appropriate adjustments, and report directly/quickly to your manager for any issues or pressing matters
– Be able to plant shrubs, flowers, and trees properly and make sure they are irrigated by the current system
– Complete cross-training in other departments and provide assistance to other service lines as needed
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 6 months of experience in the irrigation industry and/or related fields of technical labor
– Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and the mechanics of irrigation or related technical fields
– Ability to operate equipment such as trenching machines and digging tools related to grounds and landscaping equipment
– Ability to follow policy and procedures and learn as you go
– Ability to resolve basic problems, handle conflicts, and make effective decisions while working
– Ability to perform under supervision with directions, and also at times on your own tasks that you should be competent in competing solo
– Strong sense of teamwork and solid communication skills
– Ability to complete company-sponsored training to enhance knowledge and hone skills
– Work well with others and still efficient while alone
– Positive attitude, driven, willing to learn, and grow professionally
– US Work Authorization
– Drug and background check upon consideration
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
– Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
– Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
– Must be able to work up to full-time with a flexible schedule.
**any irrigation or technical certifications are a huge plus, but not required**
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 per hour
