Industrial Painter/Sandblaster
Local machinery manufacturer (since 1946) looking for industrial painter for large, primarily steel equipment. Painter should have experience spraying enamel paint, as well as preparing equipment for painting by sandblasting, taping and covering areas to exclude paint application. Secondary duties include shipping preparation including packaging, strapping, and loading heavy equipment via forklift.
This person will report directly to the Plant Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring high-quality application, adhesion, and finish of paint, and all surface prep required to achieve it.
Properly cleaning and maintaining painting equipment.
Daily schedule review and coordination with all departments to ensure the schedule is maintained.
Ensure that all components are present and painted, prepped for shipment
Moving heavy equipment to the location where it needs to be painted, via forklift, skates, and other rigging aids.
Some surface repair (including slag removal, sandblasting, bondo)
Inventory of painting consumables and reporting broken or worn-out equipment.
Following all current and future safety/environmental policies in place by the Company, state, or federal government.
Requirements:
Two (2) years’ previous industrial painting experience;
Attention to detail
Rigging experience a plus but not required
Able to stand for long periods
Able to climb ladders/truck beds/steps
Able to Crawl, crouch, kneel, and stoop to paint, to paint, tape, or package equipment
Able to withstand outdoor temps for extended periods while wearing PPE
Able to wear a respirator for extended periods while painting/sandblasting
Able to lift 75 lbs.
Able to manipulate controls, nozzles, and other required tools
Able to reach at/above/below shoulder level
Possess far and near visual acuity for paint accuracy as well as peripheral vision for safety
Able to hear loud noises such as alarms for safety
Forklift operation (including extended periods of sitting)
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation;
Excellent organizational and planning skills a must;
Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.Benefits:

Pay: $22.00 – $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
