Genesis Farms is a licensed medical cannabis cultivation and dispensary company serving patients across South Dakota. We maintain high-performance HVAC, refrigeration, and climate control systems to ensure optimal plant growth and comfortable retail environments. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented part-time HVAC service technician to join our growing team.
Position Overview
The Part-Time HVAC Technician will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems, including package units, mini-splits, and advanced grow-room climate systems. This role is essential for keeping our grow rooms and processing areas operating within precise temperature and humidity compliance standards.
Our cultivation facilities feature an Agronomic IQ Compressor Wall Grow Room HVAC system with:
Twelve 8-ton compressor modules (96-ton total capacity)
Integrated heating, cooling, and dehumidification in a modular, high-efficiency design
Up to 32 stages of performance for precise environmental control during different growth stages
Proprietary dry-cooler heat rejection technology to reduce refrigerant use, improve reliability, and increase energy efficiency
Technicians in this role will gain hands-on experience with this industry-leading system, purpose-built for cannabis cultivation, making this an ideal opportunity for HVAC professionals seeking to expand into specialized environmental control technology.
Key Responsibilities
Perform HVAC preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on commercial systems, including the Agronomic IQ Compressor Wall.
Diagnose and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and dehumidification equipment.
Monitor and adjust climate control systems to maintain optimal grow-room environments.
Replace compressors, motors, belts, filters, and other HVAC components.
Document all work performed and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification preferred.
Minimum 2 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) preferred.
Experience with environmental controls, dehumidifiers, or integrated HVAC systems is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical issues.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot, cold, and humid environments.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Schedule & Compensation
Part-time, minimum 24 hours per week (flexible scheduling).
Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Additional hours may be available during seasonal peak or project work.
