Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery on construction sites, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout project completion. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, mechanical systems, and equipment operation to support diverse building and infrastructure projects.
Duties
Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and front loader trucks to perform earthmoving, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks.
Manage equipment such as dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks for transportation of materials and waste.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
Assist with site preparation, excavation, foundation work, and other construction activities requiring precise equipment handling.
Collaborate with project managers and team members to execute construction plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a secure work environment on-site.
Skills
Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and similar machinery.
Mechanical knowledge of construction equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience with various types of trucks including front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tankers.
Construction site experience with a solid understanding of safety procedures and site logistics.
Ability to operate specialized machinery like concrete mixers and farm machinery when required.
Commercial driving skills with a valid driver’s license preferred.
Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is advantageous.
Strong physical stamina and attention to detail to ensure safe operation in demanding environments. This position offers an opportunity for experienced operators to contribute significantly to large-scale construction projects while utilizing their technical skills in a dynamic environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 – $30.42 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
