Job Detail
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Immediately report any discrepancies to the Fleet Manager
- Ensures compliance with all equipment compliance
- Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles and equipment
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs
- Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns
- Conducts safety checks on equipment
- Completes required paperwork utilizing the fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
- Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Qualifications: Valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record. (CDL preferred)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- High school diploma or equivalent (postsecondary education in diesel engine repair preferred)
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) and their components
- Proficiency in utilizing diagnostic equipment and specialized tools
- ASE certifications are of10preferred or may be required within a certain timeframe
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle tasks involving heavy lifting, working in tight spaces, and using various tools
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills
