Job Detail
- Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repair, transmission servicing, hydraulic system repairs, suspension adjustments, and engine diagnostics.
- Utilize schematics and OEM manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and powertrain components.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools.
- Conduct alignments and perform precision adjustments to ensure optimal equipment operation.
- Repair diesel engines and perform vehicle maintenance on tractor-trailers and farm machinery.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed during all repairs.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Requirements
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or service technician with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and industrial equipment repair.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and OEM manuals for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly of parts.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing phases.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively about repairs and maintenance needs.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly and work in various environmental conditions.
- Valid certifications related to diesel engine repair or heavy equipment maintenance are preferred but not mandatory. This role is integral to maintaining the operational efficiency of our fleet of heavy machinery while ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.
