Job Detail
- Surface preparation: Clean, sand, grind, or sandblast surfaces to remove rust, old paint, and contaminants to ensure proper adhesion.
- Coating application: Mix and apply specialized coatings using tools like spray guns, brushes, or rollers. This includes applying protective linings and following specific application techniques.
- Quality control: Use tools like thickness and gloss gauges to ensure the paint is applied correctly and meets standards. Verify paint mixtures to specifications.
- Safety and compliance: Follow all safety regulations, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhere to environmental and hazardous material disposal guidelines.
- Equipment maintenance: Clean and maintain painting and safety equipment, including spray guns and respirators.
- Experience
- Technical skills: Proficiency with various painting tools, including spray equipment, and knowledge of different industrial-grade coatings and their proper use.
- Physical abilities: Ability to lift heavy materials (e.g, up to 50 pounds), work for long periods while standing or bending, and possess good hand dexterity and strength.
- Safety knowledge: Training and knowledge of working at heights, confined space entry procedures, and proper use of fall protection equipment.
- Attention to detail: A strong commitment to producing high-quality work and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Communication: Ability to follow instructions from supervisors, coordinate with team members, and communicate effectively.
