• The Role Responsibilities
• As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of electrical and mechanical diagnostics and repairs on various fleet vehicles (including delivery vans, box trucks, utility trucks, and trailers), both in our shop and out in the field using our fully-equipped mobile service trucks.
• Key job duties include:
• Operating a mobile mechanic van or service truck for breakdowns or assigned shop work.
• Efficiently and accurately performing rigorous pre-inspections and diagnosing complex mechanical issues.
• Providing friendly, professional, and thorough communication with customers.
• Collaborating with the service writer for inventory management and parts orders.
• Sourcing and picking up necessary parts from local vendors promptly.
• Proactively communicating additional service needs to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
• Performing all repairs to a high standard, professionally, thoroughly, and on time.
• Documenting specifics of each completed job clearly and thoroughly on electronic repair orders.
• Skills
• We are looking for highly skilled mechanics who meet the following criteria:
• Minimum Requirements:
• Five (5) years of verifiable experience working on trucks, equipment, and trailers.
• Comprehensive maintenance and repair experience spanning: diesel, gas, engines, transmissions, air conditioning, electrical systems, air brakes, suspension, cooling, and hydraulics.
• Demonstrated strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively and independently.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical information and write repair orders clearly, accurately, and concisely.
• Requires a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Candidates must possess their own comprehensive set of professional tools.
• All offers are contingent upon passing a background check, drug screen, and other pre-employment requirements.
• Preferred Qualifications (Set yourself apart):
• More than 5(5) years of relevant experience.
• Previous welding and fabrication experience and skills.
• Possession of a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)—this is a significant advantage.
• Relevant ASE Certifications are highly valued.
