Job Brief
The facilities superintendent is the ultimate steward of blue line aviation’s smithfield facility, serving as the hands-on champion of everything that makes the building function, look, and feel exceptional.

Job Detail
- Perform thorough cleaning and upkeep of all areas of the building, including offices, hangars, common areas, and restrooms.
- Monitor, inspect, and maintain building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, emergency power, lighting, elevators, fire alarms/suppression, hangar doors, and IT/AV equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of the building interior and exterior to identify potential issues.
- Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs, maintenance, and services, providing recommendations and input on performance and cost.
- Maintain and update facility records, including maintenance schedules, system logs, and inventories. Project and Improvement Responsibilities: Execute repair, improvement, and construction projects, including patching, painting, minor construction, furniture assembly, and equipment replacement.
- Perform handyman tasks to resolve issues not requiring a vendor.
- Develop and maintain databases for preventive maintenance and inventory management.
- Assess equipment and systems for replacement or upgrades, providing recommendations for budget planning.
- Implement safety improvements and enhancements to building operations as needed.
- Organize and optimize storage, workspace, and general facility layout to support efficiency and functionality. Leadership and Cultural Responsibilities: Serve as a Facilities Champion, modeling integrity, humility, self-motivation, and the company’s core values in every interaction.
- Provide positive, uplifting engagement with staff, students, tenants, and visitors, ensuring the best possible impression of the facility.
- Prioritize and execute work independently while participating in weekly planning and review meetings with the VP.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including system upgrades, operational efficiencies, and vendor evaluation.
- Requirements:
- Qualifications: Eligible to work in the United States for Blue Line Aviation.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in facilities, building maintenance, cleaning, construction, or handyman work.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage projects from start to finish.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to identify issues before they escalate.
- Comfortable with physical work including lifting, climbing, walking stairs, standing for long periods, and exposure to chemicals or cleaning supplies.
- Proficient with digital tools for scheduling, task/project management, and file management. able to quickly learn new software as needed.
