Job Detail
- Responsible for the test, diagnosis, repair, configuration and preventative maintenance of network equipment, telecommunications equipment, and/or computers for systems that support the FAA’s FTI, ADS-B, MFN-2, and DCNS networks
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair RF and computer systems
- Construction of new equipment racks as required
- Operation and testing with various pieces of electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, RF generators, VIAVI 5800, and Tempo Datascout
- Terminate and build Cable connectors and replacements (RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25)
- Communicate with vendors to perform RMA of equipment for repair
- Maintain records on repairs, changes, and updates in homegrown database systems
- Read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
- Maintain a safe clean work area utilizing principles of 5S
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate’s degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience- Active or Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
Familiar with Cisco devices and command line interfaces via terminal software - (Putty/TeraTerm/Hyperterm/Procomm)
- Strong sense of responsibility, ownership and follow-through
- Be a team player, pro-active, and customer oriented with a sense of urgency to accomplish a given task or goal
- Possess a high level of initiative and willingness to learn
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Military training or trade school program in electronics or IT systems
