Job Description

Job Detail
  • Responsible for the test, diagnosis, repair, configuration and preventative maintenance of network equipment, telecommunications equipment, and/or computers for systems that support the FAA’s FTI, ADS-B, MFN-2, and DCNS networks
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair RF and computer systems
  • Construction of new equipment racks as required
  • Operation and testing with various pieces of electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, RF generators, VIAVI 5800, and Tempo Datascout
  • Terminate and build Cable connectors and replacements (RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25)
  • Communicate with vendors to perform RMA of equipment for repair
  • Maintain records on repairs, changes, and updates in homegrown database systems
  • Read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Maintain a safe clean work area utilizing principles of 5S



  • Qualifications:

    Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate’s degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
  • Active or Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance


    Preferred Additional Skills:

    Familiar with Cisco devices and command line interfaces via terminal software
  • (Putty/TeraTerm/Hyperterm/Procomm)
  • Strong sense of responsibility, ownership and follow-through
  • Be a team player, pro-active, and customer oriented with a sense of urgency to accomplish a given task or goal
  • Possess a high level of initiative and willingness to learn
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Military training or trade school program in electronics or IT systems
