Job Detail
- Designs new towers to meet Building Code requirements
- Designs foundations based on soil information received
- Analyzes existing towers, foundations and antenna mounts for revised loading and determines required modifications if needed
- Completes structural modification designs
- Applies structural engineering principles (steel, concrete, and soils) to designs
- Provides detailed calculations to verify computer-generated results, when necessary
- Provides technical advice to Program Managers and field personnel regarding on-site concerns
- Works with other in-house Professional Engineers as needed, to develop engineering skills
- Helps educate any Engineer I staff
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned
- Report for work on time and fulfill your shift responsibilities as planned.
- Complete all responsibilities during your assigned shift as outlined in the schedule.
- Engage respectfully with coworkers, fostering teamwork and mutual respect.
- Position Requirements:
- Education: B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
- Experience:
- 3-7 years as a licensed Professional engineer
- Skills Abilities: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Knowledge and proficient use of Solidworks required. Preferably 3 years’ minimum experience.
- Proficiency in creating drawings for manufacturability.
- Knowledge of welding and annotating welds in drawings is desirable.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in sheet metal cabinet construction. Knowledge of tubular steel and pole construction is an asset.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and assembly is preferred. Hands on experience is a plus.
- Experience with PDM and document control preferred.
- Knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge and experience evaluating design tradeoffs to achieve the most efficient cost-effective designs.
- Telecom experience is a plus, especially the wireless industry.
- Professional and effective English communication skills. Ability to communicate information through speech and in writing to be easily understood by all personnel, internal and external, Must maintain a level of confidentiality.
- Must work well in a fast-paced RD team environment but also thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, where independent critical thinking and quick execution is valued.
- Must be coachable and flexible to meet the demands of the telecom industry.
- Self-starter. can be depended on to complete tasks under minimal supervision .
- Must be focused, versatile, dependable, multi-task oriented, flexible, and able to adapt effectively to challenges.
- Ability to stay abreast of industry trends, best practice, and customer standards.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, follow-up, follow-through, and strong attention to detail.
- Must have a current, valid driver’s license and meet Sabre’s vehicle insurability requirements. Regular and timely attendance is required
- Physical Requirements: This is an office position requiring the use of office equipment such as a computer, copier, phone, etc. most of the day.
- Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching
- Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
- Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
- Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
- Ability to use hand tools for light assembly/modification of test and prototype articles for third party or inhouse lab work.
