- Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company policies and compliance requirements
- Reports hazardous conditions immediately, maintains security procedures and wears protective equipment as required
- Inspect, assemble, install, and repair all electrical AC and DC circuits, instrumentation, switchgear, motors, and other electrical equipment throughout the plant
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks as prescribed by Plant Supervision
- Plans and lays-out assigned work orders and takes responsibility for the completion of assignments
- Creates and completes work orders, requisitions, time distribution, material lists, material usage lists and performs other duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed
- Performs circuit repairs and troubleshooting or new installations as required
- Provides sketches of approved changes made to the wiring upon completion of job
- Possesses knowledge of and performs electro-mechanical system diagnosis, and repair/installation
- Skillfully performs all phases of conduit running, wire pulling, and termination as required
- Performs soldering
- Aid Plant Mechanics and Operations personnel in resolving day-to-day equipment problems
- What You Bring to the Team: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with 480v AC motor control circuits
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Electric Code
- Journeyman electrician card preferred
- Troubleshooting experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), AC/DC drives and basic instrumentation (temperature, level, pressure)
- Working knowledge of basic electrical equipment (digital multimeter, megger, etc)
- Ability to tolerate working from heights and elevated temperatures
- Good hearing, vision (color), speaking, and finger dexterity skills
- Basic Computer skills and the ability to understand technical prints, charts, and diagrams
- Working Knowledge of SAP or other Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Follow instructions, policies and procedures
- Safely and properly use electrical testing equipment
- Read electrical prints and schematics
- Proven ability to learn new technology and equipment operation
- Ability to stand, walk, and use tools continuously as well as frequently reach, climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs
- PLC experience, preferred, not required
- Leadership Responsibilities:
There are no supervisory responsibilities for direct reports for this position, but this person must have the skills to interact as a leader with all plant department employees - Work with plant supervision to communicate the status of planned jobs, unplanned jobs waiting on parts, or unplanned jobs needing engineering or technical resources
Requirements: (education, skills, and abilities)
Must be signed off on all Maintenance Technician III job qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent
- 6-10 years multi-craft maintenance experience
- 2-year technical degree approved by manager or equivalent

- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and handle multiple priorities and projects
- Ability to disassemble, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative repair measures on mechanical equipment including, but not limited to: pumps, gearboxes, reducers, couplings, seals, rotating elements, blowers, fans, hydraulic units, valves, chillers, and compressors
- Demonstrate advanced Mechanical aptitude, including pipe fitting, fabricating
- Advanced knowledge of use of hand tools and power tools
- Advanced knowledge of shop machinery, including hydraulic press, mill & drill press, lathe, and saw(s) (band & Chop)
- Advanced knowledge of building lighting systems
- Advanced knowledge of AC/heating systems
- Advanced knowledge of building fire alarm systems
- Advanced knowledge of Lock, Tag, Clear, and Try program
- Advanced knowledge of PLC troubleshooting
- Advanced knowledge of VFD troubleshooting
- Display advanced understanding of 480V system to include arc-flash training and safe working practices per NFPA 70E
- Ability to provide troubleshooting and diagnosis on process heating and cooling equipment
- Ability to consistently make appropriate decisions while being flexible with regard to work assignments and priorities
- Local travel for training purposes
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements of this position are: (these requirements are typical for most of our manufacturing roles) The ability to stand for extended periods - The ability to manually lift, push or pull at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions
- Use of hands (repetitive motion, grabbing, feeling, sensing, pulling)
- The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment
- The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold)
- The ability to withstand the rigors of working a 12(or 8)-hour rotating shift schedule
- The ability to bend, stoop or kneel repetitively
- The ability to reach or work above the shoulder
