Job Detail
- Measure, cut, and hang drywall panels according to project specifications and blueprints
- Secure drywall using appropriate fasteners, ensuring proper alignment and stability
- Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall surfaces for a seamless appearance
- Read and interpret construction schematics, blueprints, and schematics to determine installation requirements
- Prepare surfaces by framing with metal studs or wood as needed before drywall installation
- Install fixtures such as electrical outlets, switches, and other hardware in drywall surfaces
- Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to coordinate work sequences effectively
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal daily
- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a secure construction site at all times
- Assist in related tasks such as caulking, trim carpentry, or minor repairs during project phases
- Support restoration industry projects involving water damage remediation or mold mitigation when required
- Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall hanging on construction sites with a solid understanding of installation techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong knowledge of related skills including plastering, carpentry, metal stud framing, door hanging, flooring installation, tile laying, and painting techniques
- Experience with water damage restoration or mold remediation projects is advantageous
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to construction environments and ability to adhere strictly to OSHA guidelines
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
- Physical stamina to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks confidently
