About the job
Position: DevOps Engineer / Consultant Compensation: $60/hour to $100/hour based on experience, variable hours Company Description: Helios Technologies is developing advanced technology solutions aimed at improving human-machine interactions, including the development of a cutting-edge conversational AI system
- We are focusing on projects that have the potential for significant impact
- We are looking for an experienced consultant developer to join our team and contribute to the development and enhancement of our products
Overview: We’re looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to build our CI/CD pipeline and automated testing infrastructure from the ground up- This is a consultant role focused on establishing the foundational systems we currently lack, with potential to expand into feature development once infrastructure is solidified
What You’ll Do: · Build a CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions from scratch · Design and implement automated testing architecture (primarily Playwright-based end-to-end testing) · SetAutomate our existing deployment processes (all deployment code is already written and functional—we just deploy manually) · Improve codebase maintainability and developer experience · After infrastructure is established: assist with bug fixes and feature development as needed
Trial Project: Your first task will be setting up a complete CI/CD pipeline for our landing page- All deployment code exists and works—your job is to automate it
- This includes:
· GitHub Actions workflow configuration · Automated build and test steps · Pulumi-based deployment to staging and production CloudFront distributions · Expected completion: under one week
Must Have (in order of priority): · CI/CD pipeline experience (built from scratch, not just maintained) · Automated testing architecture/strategy experience · GitHub Actions · Playwright (or equivalent browser automation framework) · Pulumi (infrastructure as code) · TypeScript · Node- js backend experience
· React
Nice to Have: · AWS familiarity (we manage architecture, you need to understand deployment) · Modern build tools (Vite, Webpack, etc- )
Our Stack: · TypeScript/Node- js backend
· React frontend · AWS infrastructure · Pulumi for IaC · Deployment infrastructure already built—needs automation · No current CI/CD or automated testing (you’ll build these)
About the Role: · Contract/consultant position (not full-time initially) · Remote work · Paid trial project to evaluate fit
What Success Looks Like: · CI/CD pipeline running smoothly with minimal manual intervention · Automated test suite catching regressions before production · Improved developer experience and faster deployment cycles · Clear documentation so our team can maintain what you build ~
