Cooling Tower Mechanical Technician

- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on cooling tower systems to ensure optimal performance
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in cooling towers and associated equipment
- · Repair or replace defective components, such as fans, motors, pumps, and valves
- Conduct regular cleaning and chemical treatment of cooling tower water systems to prevent scaling and corrosion
- · Monitor and adjust cooling tower controls and settings for efficient operation
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement improvements in cooling tower efficiency
- · Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new cooling tower systems and components
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and other maintenance personnel
- Perform emergency repairs and respond to cooling tower system failures promptly
- Keep up to date with the latest cooling tower technologies and maintenance practices
- Required Skills/Abilities: Strong knowledge of cooling tower systems, components, and operations
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with cooling towers
- Experience with the installation and alignment of cooling tower components
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices related to mechanical maintenance
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with team members and clients
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts when necessary
- Education and Related Work Experience: High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, specifically with cooling towers
- Valid driver’s license
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions
- Occasional travel
