Job Detail
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools such as trowels, floats, edgers, and screeds.
- Set forms and molds accurately according to blueprints and schematics to ensure precise concrete placement.
- Operate power tools including concrete mixers, pumps, grinders, and vibrating equipment to facilitate efficient finishing processes.
- Install rebar reinforcement and metal mesh as specified in construction plans to strengthen concrete structures.
- Read blueprints and schematics to interpret project requirements accurately for proper execution of tasks.
- Apply finishing techniques such as brooming, stamping, staining, or sealing to achieve desired surface textures and aesthetics.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Coordinate with team members on site regarding concrete pouring schedules, curing times, and project deadlines.
- Conduct repairs or restoration work on existing concrete surfaces including patching, caulking, or applying stucco and plaster finishes.
- Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers or cranes when necessary for large-scale projects involving concrete pumping or placement.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and using personal protective equipment at all times.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience in concrete finishing with a strong understanding of construction site procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating power tools, mixers, pumps, and heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Skilled in rebar installation, form setting, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation.
- Knowledge of related trades such as carpentry (trim carpentry), masonry (stonework), roofing (for flat roof finishes), plastering, tile laying, flooring installation, and metal stud framing is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining safety standards.
- Experience with renovation projects or restoration work is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and understanding project specifications.
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience preferred for transporting materials or equipment when required.
- Certifications in heavy equipment operation or construction safety are advantageous but not mandatory.
