- Own specification generation, design, and analysis of civil and structural systems – including foundations, site layouts, and surface facilities for power generation projects
- Drive first-principles tradeoff analysis across civil, geotechnical, and structural systems to optimize plant constructability, cost, and performance
- Identify opportunities to simplify, accelerate, and standardize civil designs while maintaining technical excellence and reliability
- Inform and support procurement efforts relating to civil and structural scopes, including materials, construction methods, and vendor specifications for power plant designs

Qualifications

- or M
- S
- in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline
- 5 years of experience in civil engineering in large capital projects
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; candidates actively pursuing licensure be considered
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations such as IBC and ASCE
- Proven track record in managing design packages, specifications, and vendor deliverables
- Strong knowledge in site development, foundations, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and geotechnical interfaces
- Strong communication skills; with the ability to clearly convey technical information and collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and external partners

Fervo Energy is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location- Expected Salary: $92,000 – $180,000 based on California locality and dependent on experience, pay in other locations vary
Fervo Energy reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law

Fervo Energy has offices in Houston, TX, Golden, CO, Reno, NV, Oakland, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT- This position will be eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular in-office presence at any of the above locations will be required
