  • What You’ll Do

    Promote Safety
  • Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards


  • Operate Equipment
  • Operates ready-mix truck in accordance with all federal, state, and Vulcan regulations
  • Operate a truck to receive a load, evaluate slump, and drive to the job site
  • Maneuver truck on job site, attach chutes to discharge material, and clean truck to minimize concrete buildup


  • Inspect and Maintain Equipment
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete daily mobile equipment reports
  • Clean the outside of the vehicle and chutes to ensure the absence of concrete build-up at the end of each shift


  • Document and Record Information
  • Complete all forms, service reports, tickets, and required paperwork to ensure organization of documents and needed paperwork


  • Coordinate with Dispatch
  • Work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and plant management to facilitate the flow of information required to provide good customer service


  • Perform General Physical Activities
  • Perform physical activities such as cleaning all areas on the vehicle, climbing a ladder to inspect loads of ready mix concrete, hanging mixer chutes, and lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Ready to Drive
  • Must possess a commercial driver’s license and have a valid DOT physical or the ability to get one


  • Knowledge of Best Practices
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing ready-mix trucks is preferred
  • Experience with Department of Transportation rules and regulations is preferred


  • Flexibility
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises


  • Customer Focus
  • Must be able to take responsibility for customer relationships and appropriately represent Vulcan on job sites and while transporting product on public streets and highways


  • Clean Driving Record
  • Must have a clean and safe driving record and the ability to safely operate and control equipment while on the job

  • Hourly Range: the hourly range for this role is between $23
  • 88 – $35

  • This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package
