• Our Rental Yard is looking for experienced Automotive Preventative Maintenance Garage Mechanic Level 1. Successful candidates will be responsible for routine lube, oil, and filter changes on all types of trucks and equipment on trucks and trailers. We’re looking for highly skilled, well-trained, organized professionals that take pride in their work and can perform various duties as required. Prior shop experience dealing with general truck chassis work is helpful and a plus.
• Responsibilities:
• Be able to inspect trucks and be proactive in procuring for specialized parts and accessories for Ford and IHC Trucks.
• Be able to work independently or in a group setting to accomplish purchase requests.
• Be able to multi-task and switch jobs when requested or assigned by a supervisor, when certain parts requests become suddenly prioritized.
• Must be able to arrive on time each day, allowing for freeway traffic and weather conditions and provide own transportation
• Will be trained to purchase various specialized truck and equipment parts through parts manuals, Factory bulletins, or locate sourcing companies related to the type and kind of parts.
• Be able to identify basic diesel engine and chassis parts, and order from Factory Dealerships.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on trucks and trailer equipment including change-out of batteries, lube oil and filter changes
• Maintain neat and tidy work area appearance and always observe safety procedures
• Skills:
• Must be able to perform lube-oil-filter changes as requested, and work with minimum supervision
• Know how to work with tools to perform maintenance tasks – will train to suit
• Be a self-starter and continued excellent attendance record a must
• Commitment to customer service and attention to detail
• Successful candidate will be properly trained by highly skilled personnel to efficiently handle troubleshooting assignments
• Must be able to inspect trucks and identify necessary parts required on the chassis based on mechanic feedback or personal observation with minimum supervision
• Know how to identify auto and trucks parts in detail-will train to suit
• Successful candidate will be properly trained by highly skilled personnel to efficiently handle purchasing assignments
• Spanish Speaking is a plus
• Requirements:
• Should have own portable tool cart to conduct all types of truck general repairs
• Must have own transportation and current driver’s license
• Must be able to communicate clearly when tracking down parts
