Job Description

Job Detail
  • Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings
  • Create and review Standard Operating Procedure SOP documents
  • Follows and guides small preventive maintenance programs
  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis
  • Lead training programs for Automation Technicians I and II
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technology integration
  • Conduct audits and inspections for compliance and quality assurance
  • Analyze performance data and identify process optimization opportunities
  • Conducts advanced Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control
  • View HMI
  • Leads change management process and develops complex PLC ladder code changes using Rockwell
  • RSLogix family IDE’s (5000 preferred)
  • Utilizes AutoCAD proficiently for reviewing, developing, and maintaining electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings
  • Documents and communicates control system and equipment configuration changes
  • Completes advanced safety training and ensures compliance with safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • On-call availability as needed


  • Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent; prefer a 2-year professional electrical training degree or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of extensive experience in Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI
  • At least 6 years of experience with AutoCAD for control layout design and schematics
  • Proven track record of training others and developing comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for complex tasks
  • 4-5 years working in material handling industry or equivalent industry experience
  • Advanced experience with CMMS platform and PLC’s, with basic Software knowledg
  • Working knowledge of handheld and power tools
  • Advanced knowledge of PLCs and motor control
  • Advanced ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls defects
  • Advanced ability to interpret both mechanical and electric drawings and schematics
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot all material handling equipment and components
  • Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of safe industrial work practices
