The plumbing project manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all phases of plumbing projects from pre-construction through completion.

Salary Detail
$100,000 – $130,000 a year

Job Detail
  • Manage multiple plumbing projects simultaneously, from estimation to closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and manpower plans.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with design and code requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, general contractors, engineers, architects, and field teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
  • Prepare and manage change orders, RFI’s, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Conduct regular job site visits to ensure progress, quality, and safety standards are met.
  • Forecast project needs and proactively resolve issues that may impact timelines or budgets.
  • Monitor labor productivity and cost control to maximize profitability.
  • Support and mentor field supervisors and plumbing foremen to maintain consistent communication and efficiency.
  • Participate in project meetings, progress reports, and client updates.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies on all job sites.
  • Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of plumbing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory, foreman, or project management role.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Licensing: Journeyman or Master Plumber license preferred (required in some jurisdictions).
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems for commercial, industrial, or multifamily projects.
  • Proven project management experience, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
