Job Detail
- Overhaul and Maintenance: Perform comprehensive maintenance, overhauls, and repairs on injection molds according to precise specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and remedy malfunctions in molds promptly, both in the tool room and during active production runs (in-press repairs) to minimize downtime.
- Assembly Fitting: Execute manual and mechanical fitting, updating, and assembly of sub-parts into complete mold systems.
- Finishing Work: Perform quality finishing work, including high-gloss polishing and basic sandblasting of textures.
- Rigging: Utilize basic rigging skills to safely manage and transport assembled molds and mold plates.
- Technical Skills Execution
- Technical Drawings: Read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Machining: Operate various machine shop equipment and apply metal fabrication principles.
- Tool Steel Repair: Apply experience in the repair and welding of various tool steels.
- System Knowledge: Apply working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical principles, and injection molding machines.
- Collaboration Communication
- Availability Coordination: Communicate proactively with the production and maintenance teams regarding mold availability, status updates, and repair timelines.
- Teamwork: Work effectively within a team environment, sharing information and collaborating to achieve department goals.
- Safety First: Maintain a safety-minded approach, remaining aware of surroundings at all times and adhering to all safety protocols.
- Qualifications Skills
- Technical or Mechanical Education
- Several years of demonstrable work experience in a similar mold maintenance, toolmaker, or tool and die role.
- Experience in repairing and welding tool steels.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.

- Communication: Good verbal and writ10communication skills in English. basic computer skills.

- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted frequently.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks in a workshop environment for extended periods.
- Schedule: 8am-8pm 3 days per week. Work 36 hour per week, get paid for 40 hours.
