Chandler-Gilbert Community College is hiring for a Maintenance Operations Technician position. This role offers exposure to every aspect of facility maintenance and operations across multiple campus locations. Chandler-Gilbert Facilities is seeking a highly motivated individual who works well both independently and as part of a team to support a variety of tasks—from basic maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance inspections to assisting certified tradesmen with large-scale repairs and projects. The purpose of this role is to aid in the completion of maintenance and operational activities throughout the college’s multiple campuses. Routine and preventive maintenance activities are completed individually and collaboratively within a team of facilities staff. Work requests are assigned through a centralized system, with frequent interaction with faculty, staff, and students across the college.
  • Essential Functions 50% -Responds to work order requests and/or emergency calls. Completes event set up and tear down, minor repair, and equipment and furniture movement across all campuses 30% – Performs preventive maintenance inspections and addresses minor repairs such as light bulbs, paint, ceiling tiles, doors and locks, and safety. Monitors, maintains, and performs minor repairs for mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and life safety 15% – Supports other team members with skilled trade preventive maintenance and repairs on cooling, water, heat, air, drainage, and other infrastructure systems. 5% – Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, and 1(1) year of building maintenance experience or directly related experience.
  • OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
  • There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. Desired Qualifications 1. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team when required. 2. Demonstrated experience in low voltage electrical wiring and fixture repair, general maintenance and plumbing repair. 3. Demonstrated experience in computerized maintenance management work order system (CMMS) 4. Demonstrated experience with Google suite, online ordering systems, and/or internet-based search engines. 5. Demonstrated experience within the professional fields of Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, and/ or Electrical. 6. Demonstrated skill with customer service and administrative work order processing.
  • Special Working Conditions May be required to travel or be assigned to all Chandler-Gilbert Community College locations
  • May require some evening or weekend hours
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and stoop for several hours a day
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Will be exposed to extreme temperature conditions while performing duties in both indoor and outdoor settings
